The Arab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine publishes original material in the following categories: Research Paper: full-length research report. Review Article: This type of publication consists of work based on summarizing and synthesizing knowledge in a specific area carried out by other scientists who already have an understanding of the topic; however, the authors of a review article would normally have worked and published primary literature in the area they are writing about. Technical / Brief Notes: This type of publication describes technical aspects of a field or report on a procedure or method, or work based on validation of methodologies or techniques. Case Report: This is a brief description or analysis of one or more cases related to forensic science or forensic medicine. Rapid Communications: This type of publication consists of research work that extends previously published research, including the reporting of additional controls and confirmatory results in other settings, as well as negative results. Authors must clearly acknowledge any previous work upon which they are building, both published and unpublished. Letter to the editor: Letters may discuss previously published material or commentaries in the Arab Journal of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine or any issue of interest to the Arab Society for Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine (ASFSFM). Letters commenting on published material are shared with the original authors to give them opportunity to respond. Response to Letter: This is a response to a letter commenting on previously published work. The author of that work usually writes it. Editorial or Invited Commentary: This is a commentary on a specific topic or issue written by the Editor-in-Chief or by someone else upon the special invitation of the EIC. Book Review: Review of a book or other publication of interest to the Forensic Sciences or Forensic Medicine community, or any other closely related fields of Criminalistics. Conference Proceedings: Conference Proceedings are a compilation of research papers presented at a scientific meeting, symposium, or conference and are produced from the manuscripts received from authors.
The Arab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine (AJFSFM) is a peer-reviewed, open access (CC BY-NC), international journal dedicated to the development and application of forensic science and forensic medical knowledge and research for the purpose of law and justice across the globe. The AJFSFM is an official publication (ISSN 1658-6786) of the Arab Society for Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine(ASFSFM)and is published biannually by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS),Riyadh–Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. AJFSFM strictly follows the publication policies of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors(ICMJE)on Confidentiality,Conflicts of Interest and Ethical Standards.
