The Journal of Information Security and Cybercrimes Research (JISCR) is an academic refereed, and periodic journal published by Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS.( It publishes specialized   researches on Information Security and its pertinent topics in order to disseminate the comprehensive concepts of security policies and mechanisms in the cyberspace. The JISCR contributes also to the advance of knowledge related to the regulations and laws for insuring cybersecurity.

Aims

  • JISCR brings together researchers, developers and industry experts to publish the recent developments for addressing various security, privacy and accountability issues in computer science and its relevant research areas including digital forensics, data science, artificial intelligence, and smart technologies.
  • JISCR promotes innovations and advances in utilizing digital evidence and multimedia for legal purposes, including incident response, cybercrime research, cyber-risk management, and privacy protection. The journal aims at contributing to increase the usage and impact of knowledge in cybersecurity.

The topics covered in JISCR include, but are not limited to:

The JISCR publishes original contributions in English submitted from any part of the world that fall under any of the following manuscript categories:

Publication Frequency:

JISCR is published annually.

Peer Review Process:

A full double-blind refereeing process is applied in which papers are sent initially to associate reviewer to merit its suitability to the journal. After that, the paper is sent by EIC to two experts for their peer review. The opinions of up to three experts are sought to evaluate the manuscript fully with respect to its significance, relevance, quality, and clarity. On receipt of all reviewer comments, and potentially further consultation with associate editors, a decision is made by the associate editors and the editor-in-chief, who will send the decision to the corresponding author. The whole process may take 2-3 months.

Possible decisions include:

  • Accepted.
  • Accepted with minor Revisions.
  • Accepted with major Revisions.
  • Rejected.

For papers which require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable.

Revisions deadline

  • Please note that articles that are sent back to the author for revision need to be returned within 60 days (and within 20 days for subsequent revisions). A reminder will be sent in the second month. Any articles that are received after the two-month period of revision will be considered a re-submission.
  • JISCR shall furnish authors of accepted papers with proofs for the correction of printing errors. The proofs shall be returned within 14 calendar days of submittal. Reviewers and the JISCR shall not be held responsible for errors, which are the result of the author’s oversight.

The journal adopts an open access policy (OA) and strictly follows the publishing policy adopted (CC BY-NC) according the terms and conditions in the Creative Commons License for non-commercial proportions. Research accepted for publication will be available online with no fee.

Electronic submission of Manuscripts: 

Manuscripts are submitted electronically via the JISCR website: http://journals.nauss.edu.sa/jiscr. Submit by first registering to the website and then submit- your manuscript by signing in using your username and password. Upon acceptance of the manuscript for publication, authors are required to provide the original copy of the assignment of copyright dully signed by all authors.

A cover letter and permission to reproduce previously published material or to use illustrations identifying human subjects must be submitted with the manuscript. The EIC reserves the right to publish the manuscript in a different category than specified by the author.

Possible duplicate publication issues, or financial or other factors that may cause conflicts of interest, should be stated in the cover letter along with any other information the EIC may need in making a decision in such cases. Permission to include sensitive personal information about identifiable persons, or to name persons for their contributions must be included.

For manuscript publication, a Copyright Assignment Form must be signed by all authors and submitted. This demonstrates that all required approvals and/or reviews have been obtained.

The JISCR is an open access Journal, and the full text of each issue will be available on the journal's website.

Upon these rules, the JISCR content or issues can be printed or downloaded from JISCR website only for personal scientific usage that is private or non-commercial; provided non violation of all copyrights and other property notices. JISCR is committed to monitoring and maintaining the highest levels of research and publication ethics, international guidelines, procedures and policies such as: Committee on the Publication Ethics (COPE) and the Office of Research Integrity (ORI) when dealing with any suspected case of ethical misconduct and the journal may share relevant information with necessary third parties (for example, authors' institutions) if Needed. All information is handled strictly in a confidential, authentic, and Not impulsive manner. JISCR will also have the right to pursue any issues of ethical misconduct even after the paper has been rejected or withdrawn.

No Article Processing Fee

The Journal of Information Security and Cybercrimes Research (JISCR) charges no submission or processing fee from authors.
