Abstract

This study examines the Federal Republic of Somalia’s counter-terrorism policy by highlighting the increasing terrorist attacks that pose significant threats to the state’s security, economy, and governance. It provides an overview of the main terrorist groups in Somalia and their ideological orientations. The study also evaluates the laws and policies implemented to address these threats and assesses their effectiveness. The study employs a descriptive and inductive methodology to analyze the impact of terrorist groups on the Federal Republic of Somalia and evaluate the role of the federal government in addressing this challenge. The findings reveal that the counter-terrorism laws and regulations have mitigated the influence of terrorist movements in Somalia. The study recommends the urgent formulation of a comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy for the Federal Republic of Somalia to eradicate terrorism as swiftly as possible
