Abstract

From its foundation, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia “KSA” pays attention to persons with special needs. This attention has increased during the last two decades. KSA has made achievements surpassing experiences of many developing countries at caring with persons with special needs. Therefore, the study relies on an important objective that seeks to predict the number of persons with special needs in KSA till 1448 A.H. by using the suitable statistical methods for identifying the required prediction.

The study presents some recommendations which include the following: Standard buildings suitable to needs of persons with special needs should be designed to have progressive capacities satisfying the need for service. Day care centers should have small capacities in order to cover quarters, and distances from such centers and place of residence of person with special needs family should be reduced. Comprehensive rehabilitation centers should be disseminated in all areas by all possible ways. Accordingly, medical and assistance services can be provided. Services offered by old people’s homes for social care should be extended to include all KSA’s areas.
