Abstract

The current study aims to propose a new dynamic forecasting vision on the role of artificial intelligence applications in the mechanism of future crime monitoring This vision keeps pace with the changes and developments of the fourth industrial revolution affecting cognitive and scientific dimensions and information technology field, and seeks to activate the AI security applications. The study adopts the descriptive developmental approach that includes a survey, and a questionnaire is prepared as tool for recognizing the reality of activation of AI security applications in the mechanism of future crime monitoring, according to the viewpoints of Anti-Cybercrime Unit employees. The findings show that the activation level of AI applications is intermediate. According to the study findings and based on the researchers’ viewpoints, a proposed forecasting visions has been developed for activating the AI security applications used by employees at Anti-Cybercrime Unit and for measuring how such application are convenient by experts and specialists. This vision includes three dimensions; a preventive monitoring of crime, crime detection, and penalty.
The study offers some recommendations as follow:
A planning should be implemented for transforming into a smart prevention of future crimes.
A smart environment should be prepared to keep pace with the current changes.
The circumstances associated with future crime control should be improved by increasing funds and allocating a specific budget for expanding the smart infrastructures of the digital government.
