Abstract

This study examines cybercrimes as a modern threat to national security, intensified by the digital revolution and rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). It highlights how sophisticated cyberattacks—such as AI-driven financial fraud and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks—target governments, corporations, and individuals, exploiting vulnerabilities in cyberspace’s borderless and complex nature. Using descriptive and analytical methods, the research explores cyber breaches’ impacts on national security and digital infrastructure, while evaluating countermeasures like quantum encryption and AI-based defenses. Key recommendations include strengthening national and international cybersecurity laws, integrating quantum computing and blockchain technologies, fostering technical expertise, and promoting preventive strategies that combine enhanced security protocols with public awareness campaigns. The study underscores the urgency of global collaboration, updated legislation, and innovative infrastructure protection to mitigate evolving cyber threats like social engineering and advanced persistent attacks
