Abstract
The study seeks to analyze the geostrategic characteristics of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). It has a religious standing in the eyes of one and half billion Muslims in the world. This standing grants KSA a unique geo-cultural depth. KSA’s strategic location enables it to control three world waterways constituting the commercial and economic artery of the world. It is in the heart of Arab and Asian countries and has huge economic wealth; oil which is the main tool for world industry and transportation is the most important resource of such wealth. Moreover, KSA has strong people with a high level of knowledge, culture, standard of living and health.
The study presents some findings. The most important ones are as follows: The geographical aspects of KSA are well adapted to KSA’s Vision 2030. This shows that such geographical aspects have been waiting for this vision to be used to invest the strategic and economic resources of KSA. KSA has a strong economy that is capable to respond to the requirements of Vision 2030. KSA’s economy can be developed to occupy the fifteenth instead of nineteenth place among the world economies. The religious and civil sectors of Saudi tourism are developing. They are enriching the Saudi economy and greatly contribute to the total national income. Subsequently, KSA’s economy can turn into an economy with multiple resources that is not only dependent on oil.
