Threats to Mental Health Related to Home Quarantine following the Novel Coronavirus, COVID-19

Abstract
The Corona (COVID-19) pandemic has left, and continues to leave, its health, economic, social and psychological effects on the whole world, causing paralysis and disrupting people’s lives. It has also caused threats to their psychology and other psychological effects resulting from compelling them to stay confined to their homes as a form of quarantine and their inability to go out only in cases of necessity. The most important of these threats are the restrictions imposed on family members and their psychological repercussions, social divergence in daily interactions between individuals that is considered an important social process in human life, changing economic lifestyle, the spread of rumors and the negative impact of the media, and concern about providing needs at home, and psychological pressure on the elderly. Home quarantine has its effects and repercussions on the personal psychological behavior of people as theories explain, including phobia of isolation and mental illnesses, fear and increased doubts about the validity of information and its impact, eating disorders, and aggression. Individual treatment for dealing with the psychological effects of home quarantine should be through psychological preparation for dealing with crises, acts of obedience to God and increased periods of worship, social acclimatization to situations during home quarantine, strengthening a positive relationship with the wife and children, electronic communication and social activities, and good balanced eating.
