Abstract

During the past three decades, the world witnessed rapid and successive changes in all areas of life due to the unprecedented developments in information and communication technologies, genetic engineering, biochemistry and other sciences. These developments was not matched by the appropriate level of adaptation in political, legal, economic, social and cultural structures, to deal with the effects and results. The consequences of these developments, which included all aspects of human life, has resulted in a noticeable increase in new international crises, which have their qualitative characteristics that distinguish them from the traditional crises that were previously dealt with. This traditional type of crisis was subject to a qualitative change in its characteristics, which led to more crises facing the world, and more severity of the risks resulting of them. This raised doubts about the feasibility of traditional methods used in managing contemporary international crises, and Corona crisis confirmed these doubts.

Hence, this study aims to determine the qualitative characteristics of contemporary crises and the efficiency of the traditional means of its management, all the way to providing a scientific vision for untraditional management of contemporary international crises.

The study reached the following results: The Corona Crisis provides a model for the qualitative characteristics of contemporary international crises, and the experience gained from crisis management emphasizes the need to come up with new visions, strategies and methods for managing these crises.Having the elements of advanced technological power alone is not sufficient to manage contemporary international crises.
