Abstract

This study aims to develop a conceptual model to enhance the organizational citizenship behavior by applying the servant leadership style in the security organizations. For achieving this objective, it identifies the behavioral characteristics and requirements of organizational citizenship and reviews the nature, importance, and modern organizational applications of servant leadership model. It demonstrates the components of servant leadership model that are necessary for promoting organizational citizenship behavior. Furthermore, the study provides an analytical vision on servant leadership model for primarily promoting citizenship behavior in the security organizations.

The study adopts the descriptive-analytical approach by exploring, reviewing, and analyzing the relevant scientific literature. It provides a valuable addition to servant leadership model for adopting organizational citizenship in the security organizations. It focuses on the components, most important features, prominent specialized research centers, and latest applications in the field of organizations, particularly security organizations.

The study finds that the application of servant leadership style in the security organizations offers great advantages. The most important of which is the promotion of organizational citizenship behavior. However, this model encounters multiple conceptual and empirical challenges. Therefore, this study presents some recommendations for adopting a systematic framework for case studies in the security organizations. Accordingly, applications of servant leadership style may be expanded to enhance the practices of organizational citizenship behavior in those organizations that encounter various challenges.
